Real impact in Bangladesh

Radha from Bangladesh has five daughters. When her husband, a farmer, became unwell and couldn't support their family, Radha had no choice but to leave home to find work.

She travelled to Lebanon and worked as a domestic worker, enduring long hours for little pay. When her own health deteriorated, she returned to Bangladesh.

CAFOD's local partners supported Radha with counselling, medical treatment, and business training. This training encouraged her to get a cow. Now, Radha has the means to support her family through the milk and income her cow provides.

Today, she lives with one of her daughters and her health is stable. She says she is now "confident enough" and hopeful for the future; a new beginning built on self-sufficiency and dignity.
