New world gift: Feeding people when disaster strikes
Each week we'll feature one of our new World Gifts from the 2016 range and show the difference that this gift can make to families living in poverty around the world.
When disaster strikes, emergency food packages can help make a life saving difference to families in urgent need. CAFOD's £20 Emergency food World Gift can feed a family who have nothing to eat in the days and weeks after a devastating natural disaster.
Buy Emergency food for those in crisis
CAFOD's partners in India have been providing emergency food vouchers to communities devastated by severe monsoon floods. The floods submerged rice paddy fields and granaries, washing away food reserves in some of the poorest states in India.
Working with Caritas India, CAFOD's Emergency Response Team were already in place to react quickly to this crisis and provide food to families who would have gone hungry in the aftermath of the floods.
The World Gifts Emergency, Conflict and Rehabilitation Fund allows CAFOD to respond quickly to a wide range of humanitarian emergencies around the world, including the Nepal earthquakes, Yemen conflict, the Syria crisis and a food crisis in Ethiopia.
