‘I am whole-heartedly thankful.’
Jamila Begum, Pakistan.
How a goat helps to provide food for a family
Earthquake survivor Jamila Begum, who received a goat from a CAFOD-funded project.
Jamila was widowed by a major earthquake that struck the North West Frontier Province, Pakistan. As well as killing her husband, the earthquake destroyed her home and she lost the two buffalo that she’d kept for milking to help feed her family.
The practical gift of a milking goat from CAFOD’s partner, CRS, is helping her to ensure that, every day, she has something nutritious to feed her two sons.
It is just one of the many animals that have been given to vulnerable people around the world.
